We are sad to report that the Trimley Carnival set for tomorrow, Saturday 14 July 2012 has had to be cancelled due to a waterlogged field.
The field is too sodden to take the heavy vehicles and fairground attractions.
More information is available from our local newspaper Ipswich Star.
Saturday 7th July 2012, what a day!
The Friends of Trimey Station and the Trimley Station Community Trust held it's 'Big Event' and what an event it was. As well as acting as an open event to raise awareness of the community project, the Trust had invited local businesses to have a presence.
In total there were 18 local businesses represented, those that managed to attend brought their products/services to show off, others who were unable to attend provided leaflets and information for those visiting.
The Friends had arranged a great lineup of raffles and tombolas, there were 14 raffle prizes donated by the wonderful people of The Trimleys. The winning raffles prize numbers are below:

Trimley Station Community Trust and the Friends of Trimley Station welcome you to The Big Event, being held on Saturday 7th July 2012 between 12 noon and 4.00pm at the Welcome Hall, Trimley St Mary.
The Trust are determined that the two historic buildings, the main Station building and the former brake goods store, which together make up Trimley Station, are not lost to the wider Trimley community, and resolve to do everything in their power to bring the buildings back into locally managed, sustainable long term Community use.
You can view a leaflet from the Trust here.
This event is being held to allow the community find out what the Trust is doing, to raise awareness of the progress of the project. Along side the Trust are the Friends of Trimley Station, our fantastic fund raiser, and are also helping to run this event.
There will also be local business at the event, the Trust and the Friends thought it would be nice for local business to show their support of the project, by being at this event, this also helps them raise awareness of their business in these difficult times.
Some local businesses are busy on Saturday, as are lots of small/family businesses, for those that can't attend, but would like to support, the Trust are providing a space for these businesses to show their wares and to leave publicity material.
A number of these businesses are providing raffle prizes, for which the Trust are very grateful.
Alongside a raffle, there will also be a tombola, face painting for the children, cream teas, scones, locally made cakes, wine tasting and much more.
This is being run as a family friendly day, and the Trust hope all can pop along to find out more, and to enjoy themselves too.

Some really interesting new photographs have been added to the "Past - 1960's" gallery. We are unsure of their actual date and would love to hear from anyone that knows a more accurate date. The station is not boarded up in the photo's, but it does look a little unloved, are these pictures around 1967 when the building was closed?
Thanks to the Tony Harden Collection for these pictures, they add an extra era to our collection. If you know of any more photographs, we would be very interested to have a look.
